Young at Heart

Come and join us for the Young at Heart meeting on Wednesday, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. Our speaker will be Richard Thompson. He will speak about Wills, Trusts, and Probate Estates. You are all invited to join the Young at Heart, you just have to be Fifty or older. We have delicious desserts at every meeting and good food at least four times a year plus entertainment. We would enjoy having you!

 

Cantors

Anyone from 8th grade and up are invited to attend an informal gathering in church on May 14th at 6:00 p.m. Come meet present cantors and funeral choir. No commitment necessary. This meeting will provide information about the ministry of cantor and it’s historical role in the church. For more information call Kevin Mohr at 475-3591.

 

St. Teresa School Registration

St. Teresa School is now registering Pre-K thru 8th Grade students for the 2008-2009 school year. Anyone interested may call Rosemary at school (235-4066) for more information on registering or if you would like a tour of the school.

 

Prayer Requests

The Wednesday Morning Prayer Group provides a box in the back of church for your prayer requests. Prayer requests are collected before their meetings and are held for 4 weeks. All are welcome, they meet in the rectory basement after the 8:15 a.m. Mass.

 

Attention College, HS and JH Students!

Do you enjoy singing or playing an instrument in a group? Now that you are home for the summer and perhaps enjoying a little more free time, why not join the Contemporary Choir. We practice on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and then sing for the 5:00 p.m. Mass. If you are interested, e-mail Brian Kapp at brkapp@siue.edu, or call at 980-3433.

Catholic Service & Ministry Appeal

So far, 256 families have given a total of $38,830.37 toward our goal of $59,265.00. If you have not had the opportunity to respond to the Catholic Service & Ministry Appeal, please make every effort to do so.

 

Scoutmaster Needed

St. Teresa Boy Scout Troop 19 is searching for a volunteer to take over as Scoutmaster of the Troop next school year. Anyone interested please call Chuck Heinzl at 806-9562 or Bob Hermann at 520-8809.

 

Picnic News

     Our Parish Picnic is on Saturday, September 13th, from 3:00 until 11:00 p.m. We are in need of many volunteers for the variety of stands we would like to have. If you can help, please call John Mannino at 222-0760.

     Quilters are looking for donations of handmade, queen-size quilts for our Parish Picnic’s Quilt Bingo. Please call Marilyn Fiedler at 234-5876 for more. They are also in need of monetary donations to purchase materials for quilts. If you can help please put your donation in an envelope marked “Quilts” and drop in the collection basket.

... Communion for our Shut-Ins

Do you know a St. Teresa parishioner that is either home-bound or a nursing home resident that would like to receive Holy Communion? If so, call Michael at 234-8540 to arrange for one of our parish Ministers of Care to visit.
